# Wait for content

> Wait for selected web content, a matching URL, or a configured delay before continuing an action.

The Wait for Content command waits for web content to appear on a page or for a specific URL to finish loading. When it waits for web content, select a web element in the browser; the parent action command then waits until that element is available on the page. Located under **Action** in the command palette.

A Wait for Content command must be a direct child of a command under the Action icon and works in conjunction with that command. It cannot be a child of an HTML List or HTML Area command unless its parent action command breaks the HTML area. Action commands break HTML areas by default, so this limitation is rarely relevant.

## Selected wait content

**Selected content:** Displays the selected content as non-editable HTML so that you can inspect the selected element.

## Wait settings

1. **Wait type:** Specifies whether to wait for web content, a URL, or a delay. The default is **Web Content**.
   1. **Web Content:** Waits for the selected web element to appear, ensuring that the expected content has loaded before continuing.

2. **Requirement:** Available when **Wait type** is **Web Content**. Specifies whether the wait is **Required**, **Optional**, or **No Wait**.
3. **Timeout:** Sets the number of seconds between completion of the action and parsing of the page. The default is 60 seconds.
4. **Wait for removal:** Available for the **Web Content** wait type. Waits for the selected element to be removed from the page before continuing.
5. **Wait for visibility:** Available for the **Web Content** wait type. Waits for the selected element to become visible before continuing.
6. **Search all frames:** Specifies whether to wait for every frame on the page to load before continuing.
